Whole Food Cleanse-Day 6 & 7
If you didn’t notice I slacked on posting yesterday. I have an excuse though-it was my birthday and I just didn’t feel like cooking.
My dear friend Jenny took me on a bike ride to a local health food spot called ‘Umeke Market where her friend Sam is the chef. He made us Korean Style Tofu Tacos with cucumber salad for lunch. I had mine sans tortilla. It was spicy but so good! He surprised us with my favorite, unbeknownst to him, a Kale Smoothie! It was a perfect lunch for my Whole Food Cleanse.
After lunch, we rode to the beach where she took me to snorkel with the Hawaiian Sea Turtles. It was amazing!
A perfect birthday beach day with the people I love…what a great gift!
Whole Food Cleanse: Day 7
Kimberley made a delicious breakfast of Sweet Potato & Quinoa Oatmeal. Naturally sweetened with sweet potatoes and blueberries along with the texture of quinoa and the crunch of nuts, this recipe will make it hard to go back your old-fashioned oatmeal!
Sweet Potato & Quinoa Oatmeal
Super Food Ingredient: Quinoa
- Quinoa is a great source of magnesium, manganese, vitamins B2, E, fiber and minerals including iron, phosphorous, copper and zinc.
- It is a wheat and gluten-free protein source and mostly likely the least allergic of all grains.
- Quinoa also contains all the essential amino acids making it a complete protein.
